Utah Public Radio interviews Effect International

Casey Allred"It brought tears to my eyes that we were actually making a difference to these children, and I won’t ever forget that.” - Casey Allred describing his first visit to Effect International's new school in Bihar, India. In August 2011 Effect International's Director, Casey Allred, sat down with Utah Public Radio to discuss our work in India and Nepal. He was joined by Board Member Ann Norman to talk about how Effect International was started, what our philosophy is, and where we're heading next. You can listen to the full interview below. In the interview, Casey discusses Effect's obsession with empowering local communities to make decisions. Before every project, we meet with local leadership, talk with local people, and assess local needs. Even the school houses are constructed using local labor. The interview also explains our unique 100% model: 100% of all donations made to Effect International go directly to our schools. We don't use it for advertising, U.S. employees, or parties. It all goes toward educating children and fighting poverty.
